U sredu i četvrtak (17/18) je pun avgustovski Mesec.

Na severnoj (letnjoj) hemisferi nadenuta su mu neka od sledećih imena:

kod Severnoameričkih indijanaca: Mesec morune (jesetre), Mesec zelenog kukuruza, Mesec borovnice, Mesec zrnevlja, Mesec kad sve sazri
kod Kineza: Mesec žetve
kod Kelta: Svađalački Mesec
Crveni mesec (crven je zbog izmaglice ili prašine u suvom letnjem vazduhu, ne zbog pomračenja)

Na južnoj (zimskoj) hemisferi ga zovu:

Vučji Mesec, Snežni Mesec, Olujni Mesec, Gladni Mesec

U Srbiji ga ne zovemo nikako. Tada nam se uglavnom vrzmaju razni vukodlaci i vampiri po glavama, mada ima i nekih koji uporno laju na pun Mesec u podne. Za takve postoji posebno ime, koje nema veze sa punim Mesecom ali ima sa praznim glavama.
